The images below are basically a time line of the project. The plan was a raised garden for herbs, veggies that was somewhat critter proof. We were also tasked with using recycled treated lumber which turned out to be very rewarding.
Yes the lumber for the fence is actually very old, 10-15 years I am told. We found it stacked in a large pile and refurbished it by removing all the nails and washing every piece until it looked mostly new. The potting shed itself was made with rough white oak and was built in an old school out building style. I am going to do another post on it on its own because it is something we offer, custom built, interesting and functional buildings. Fresh install of a bubble rock, it sounds so soothing and looks beautiful. It looks a little rough right now but when it is planted and grown in it will look like a natural part of the landscape. Birds and other creatures love the water and it sounds amazing, very little maintenance involved.
We designed and installed this nice landscape in Shepherdstown WV. Design work takes quite a bit of time and work so we do not offer a free service for that but if you want a quality design tailored to your property we can do it. This was the first draft, if you drive by the property today you will see we changed some things around per customer needs.
In this project we removed and recycled an older paver patio and replaced it with this more interesting irregular flagstone patio. In this project we worked with another local landscape company - Native Havens - which was a pleasure to work with.
We used 6 tons of natural bluestone to create this beautiful walkway to the out building. The whole area had to be regraded adding some 100 tons of soil and drains for water run off, quite a challenge.
In this project from late fall we tore out a 90 feet long failing treated lumber wall and replaced it with a Nicolock Alta wall system.
In this case the treated lumber failed spectacularly after about 10 years (rotted) and had to be replaced, this new wall will last as long as it is needed with no worries. This was a nice project that challenged my design and technical skills too, which is always nice! It turned out well and now there is a new space for the clients to entertain or just hang out in the evenings. This project used Techo-bloc materials with brown/tan colors with dark grey accents. The above photo is the very first one I can find from the job, what a transformation in the end.
The guy on the machine thinks he is slick but turned out to be impossible to work with, we managed to finish the job despite him, hahaha. We sent him to get lunch and materials for most of the job which in fact he was good at. Before photo above of course. Its a bad idea first and no one should want this design and just say no! See below picture for a nice job with same material. Super great place to work and the outcome was good.
New Hampshire Vienna stone I believe, really nice stone to work with. This is the Before This is the much improved after. Plus we solved a drainage issue that was eroding her foundation. Please make sure all your drainage pipes have an outlet and are functioning. The step treads are cut and rock faced limestone and pavers are EP Henry. |
